Tai Chi Chuan
What is Tai Chi Chuan?

Injuries, illness and fragility comes in and out of our lives from time to time. Most would agree that they are experiences we wish to stave off as much as possible. So that we may live to our fullest and happiest potential.
Tai chi chuan is a miraculous system that has a completely different approach to movement, power and being.
This system teaches you how to dissolve physical and mental tension. Opening the body internally. Allowing the body’s energies to flow and function freely.
In its inception, Tai Chi Chuan was a lethal martial art. The training gave the practitioner incredible power and toughness beyond that of conventional martial arts we know.
But its secrets were kept hidden within the families until much later, when it was popularised by masters such as Yang Cheng Fu.
Cheng Fu began to teach publicly the health and rehabilitation components of the art. The health benefits were so effective that Tai Chi spread across China and ultimately the rest of the world.

Is Tai Chi the same as Chi Kung?
Yes. But Chi Kung (Qi Gong) is not the same as Tai Chi.
Chi Kung translates as energy work. Where one cultivates the many energies of the body and mind. The training of Tai Chi, which primarily involves standing meditation (Zhang Zhuang), releasing exercises (Song Gong) and forms all cultivate and manipulate Chi or energy.
The difference is that the primary energies cultivated in Tai Chi is martial force. A physical force that can be used offensively and defensively. This is unique to internal martial arts. Whereas Chi Kung does not train martial Chi but rather only Chi that is for health and vitality.
The benefit of Martial Chi is that it is a two for one deal. Not only can you use it to throw an assailant across the room but also to cultivate the health and vitality Chi as well.

Why should I train with Ramzi?

Tai Chi can be a challenging art to learn due to its internal mechanics. But with the right teacher and correct training it becomes an achievable skill.
Not only has Ramzi learnt from one of the few true masters of the art but has also actively taught students for many years. With that experience he has become efficient at helping others down the path. Making easy what is at first difficult.
